‘Diet starts Monday’ …

How many times have you said this?
Perhaps you’ve enjoyed your weekend, eaten a little more than usual, and decided that Monday is the day EVERYTHING must change?!
New diet.
More exercise.
No more carbs.
This time, you’re going to get it right.
Here’s what actually happens.
Monday starts well. You’re motivated, eating consciously, doing a bit more and determined to stick to your new plan.
Tuesday goes well, too.
Then Wednesday arrives. You’re tired, hungry, and life starts to get in the way.
You miss a workout or eat something that wasn’t in your ‘plan’ & suddenly you feel like you’ve have failed.
You give up on the week and promise yourself you’ll start again next Monday.
Sound familiar?
But what if you haven’t actually failed your plan, and your plan failed you?
Maybe you tried to change too much, too soon?
Maybe the ‘new diet’ was too restrictive?
Maybe your training plan didn’t fit around your work, your family or the rest of your life?
Maybe you’ve spent so long chasing perfection that you’ve overlooked what actually works?
You don’t need to get everything right, you just need to find a few simple habits you can repeat, especially when life gets busy.
Train twice a week.
Eat nutritious food and include protein with your meals.
Walk a little more.
Get a little more sleep.
Enjoy the foods you love without feeling guilty.
Whatever changes you are planning on making, can you see yourself doing them in years time?
If not, the chances are you be starting again next Monday…
