Is your Sunday dinner really the problem?
How much time do you spend worrying about individual meals, when your health is shaped by the things you repeatedly do over time?
One Sunday dinner, roasties, Yorkshire pudding, and a pudding afterwards will not automatically undo weeks of good habits.
So why do we give one meal so much power?
The problem isn’t your Sunday roast, the problem is the expectation that you need to eat ‘perfectly’ all the time to get results, or the false belief that actually enjoying food means you have ‘failed’.
You can work towards your goals without making every meal a test of willpower, and you can eat nutritious food most of the time, still enjoy the things you love, and still make progress.
You don’t need to choose between looking after your health and enjoying your life, you just need habits that allow you to do both.
So if you like a Sunday dinner, enjoy it! But not because you’ve ‘earned’ it & not because you’ll ‘burn it off’ tomorrow, but because food is there to nourish you and to be enjoyed, especially with friends and family.
Your health will always be about the bigger picture, don’t let one meal (especially one that you enjoyed) distract you from it.
Build Strength. Gain Confidence. Enjoy Life.
